Our founder, George Petrentzev, is a mechanical engineer by trade who spent nearly 20 years in the automotive industry before realizing that his true passion was in construction. In 2016, he launched OnPoint Construction, which quickly became known for its quality work and unwavering attention to detail. But as George spent more time in the field, he kept noticing the same problems play out across Livonia and Metro Detroit: mechanical contractors cutting corners, doing quick equipment swaps, and calling it a day. Systems were installed fast and "repaired" forever.

Equipment passed inspection on paper but never actually performed. Ductwork was slapped together with foil tape instead of built with the craftsmanship homeowners deserve. The same story played out with plumbing and electrical work... expedited installations that looked fine on the surface but left homeowners dealing with leaky connections, faulty wiring, and systems that never quite worked how they should. It was clear that corners were being cut across the board, not just with HVAC.

By the time he was called in to evaluate these situations, homeowners were already frustrated, stuck with brand new systems that still left the master bedroom freezing and the living room stuffy. With his engineering background and years of hands on experience in everything from tricky residential retrofits to complex mechanical builds, George knew homeowners deserved better. Not just equipment that ran, but systems that were designed, calculated, and installed with real precision. Systems that quietly and reliably do what they are meant to do, season after season.

So he founded OnPoint HVAC with one clear mission: to bring engineering level accuracy and integrity to everyday homes, and to treat every project like we're installing it in our own house. In just two years, that mission has shaped everything we do.
